Baked Vidalia Onions

Use any kind of large, sweet onion, such as Vidalia, Maui, or Walla Walla. For each onion you will need:

2T butter
1T brown sugar
2T balsamic or apple cider vinegar
1T boullion (use gluten free, if required)
generous dash rosemary
generous dash thyme

Peel outer layer of onion. If desired, cut off end and slice onion into chunks. You will need to reassemble prior to baking.

For each onion, place a square sheet of aluminum foil on work surface. Place butter and brown sugar in the middle of each sheet. Place onion on top and wrap foil half way up onion. Pour vinegar and boullion into the bottom of each onion wrapping. Generously cover onion with rosemary and thyme. Wrap onion completely in foil and seal.

Bake at 375 for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until onions are soft.
