crock pot
1 can diced tomatoes
Produce
2lbs (1 small head) cabbage, cored and diced
1 1/2c diced onion
1/2c diced carrot
1/4c diced celery
juice of 1 lemon
Groceries
8 gingersnaps, crumbled
1c undiluted apple juice concentrate
1c undiluted apple juice concentrate
Spices
1/2t dill
2t basil
1 1/2T salt
dash pepper
Staples
1/4c brown sugarAdd all ingredients to crock pot, along with 6 1/2c water.
Cook on high, a minimum of 6 hours.
Can also be cooked on the stove. Bring to a boil and simmer at least 2 1/2 hours.
The author recommends serving with rye or onion bread.
