Tofu Fingers

1 block extra firm tofu
1/3c teriyaki sauce
2T tamari
4T maple syrup
2T water
1 pkg original Shake and Bake
vegetable oil


Drain tofu and cut into 1/2” slices, then cut the slices in half to make fingers. Place tofu in one layer in a shallow dish.

Combine teriyaki sauce, tamari, maple syrup and water. Pour over tofu.

Marinate for several hours, turning at least once to get marinade evenly distributed.

When ready to make, pour Shake and Bake in a shallow dish (I like to use a pie plate).

Remove tofu from marinade and dip in Shake and Bake to coat thoroughly.

Heat a small amount of vegetable oil in a frying pan or electric skillet. Place coated tofu fingers in oil and cook for a few minutes on each side, until fingers are golden brown.

Remove from skillet and blot with a paper towel.
